An Evening at Beach side

It was eventide and crowd on the beach has almost disappeared. The smoky moon has illuminated the sky with the stars ensconced behind the dim gray clouds. The breeze blowing was cool but not cold. They can feel the leptons and quarks of the cool breeze. Soon they sensed the rhythm of the sea waves; each time embraced by the sand. It was Sarah’s Birthday and she wanted to celebrate her day with her best friend Sarth at the beach.
Meanwhile they were busy relishing the beauty of nature Sarth intrigued - “Happy Birthday!”

Sarah - (Gazing at skyline) Happy Birthday! (Realizing what she replied back, looking at Sarth with a big smile) Thank you so much!

Sarth - This is so innocent of you.

Sarah - Reflex! (Both laughed)

Sarth - (With his eyes closed) This is so beautiful! We should visit this place too often.

Sarah - This is The Birthday evening I wanted.

Sarth - I really needed this. Sarah, (choosing words) do you think perfect lives exist?

Sarah - No, I don’t think so. I can’t even define ‘Perfect’. Why are you up with this question?  All ok?

Sarth - Yes. (After a big pause) But sometimes…(All his emotions had ruptured like volcano) I feel so low with my mind full of negative thoughts… knitted to anxiety…miserably sad…with skeptical attitude all time.. resentful and what not. I just feel horrible. This keeps on haunting me.

Sarah - (Holding his hand) It’s ok. I completely understand.

Sarth - (Bursting with tears) I really wonder, what I am doing with my life. Job, family, relationships….nothing is well…(Sobbing)

Sarah - Sarth! Go ahead, pour your heart out.

Sarth - (Taking a deep breath) I feel like there is some invisible boundary that I am trapped to. Why do I have these negative emotions? I just don’t understand. They say, Men don’t cry. Being a Man it doesn’t mean I don’t have emotions. I can’t be strong all the time. I do have feelings that I can’t hide. Why I fail to express myself? Why the society is so stereotyped? Why are we criticized all the time?
(With a pause) Am sorry. I guess am ruining your the day.

Sarah - Please. Don’t be sorry. I really felt great that you shared this stuff. To be honest, I have been through this as well.

Sarth - (Curiously) What you did then?

Sarah - (With a brave voice) I gave some “Time to The Time”.

Sarth - Time to the time…sounds good. Seems like 4 ‘Ts’ deep meaning though.

Sarah - You know; we keep on blaming society and the fault in our stars. But somewhere we ourselves are responsible for this. We fail to be self contented.

Sarth - True that.

Sarah - Sometimes it’s good to please yourself.

Sarth - As in?

Sarah - Simple…It’s my Birthday today. I could have invited my friends and had a party. Of course I’ll be delighted by their presence and they mean a lot to me. But this time, I wanted a celebration with myself. Like ME celebrating my birthday. I don’t want to please my friends but ME. If something good happens to you, you call your loved ones and celebrate your happiness. We everytime do the same and we should. But sometimes it is good to go this way.

Sad - Cheer yourself up.

Happy  - Treat yourself.

Feel lonely - Be with your own.

Feel like crying - Cry out loud. Don't give a damn about others.
Don’t suppress your feelings. Let it flow just like water as its counter thing is dangerous. And if things don’t work out, give some time. Don’t overthink. Time is the best healer. Live for today.

Sarth - And what about tomorrow….your future?

Sarah - I feel that Tomorrow never comes. Our future is what we do today. We always work for a better tomorrow and when the very Tomorrow is here we again start working for a new better Tomorrow. This cycle is repeated. We don’t even know how long we are going to live. So ain’t it better to live for today enjoying to the fullest.

Sarth - Well, am not fully satisfied with this point. Anyways, you just said you wanted to celebrate this day all alone; then why am here.

Sarah - I wanted to celebrate with ME, not alone. And you are more than friend to me. You are just like my family. You know when I was a child, my father used to say “Don’t be scared of anything…am always there for you, your hero will never let you fall”…And I feel the same with you.

Sarth - Wow! I have never heard this from anyone. Overwhelmed! After having this wonderful conversation and this place being cherry on the cake, I feel like am born…again!

Sarah - Well then I must say “Welcome to the real world. It sucks. But you’re going to love it!”.

Sarth -  Ohh my Monica!!!  Ummm can I ask you one more thing?

Sarah - Shoot!

Sarth - What do you think about us being Mondler.

Sarah - Ummm, rightnow am blank.

Sarth - What if someday I propose you?

Sarah - (In confused voice) Are you seeking my answer or my permission?

Sarth - Well, may be both.

Sarah - (Serious tone) Let’s leave this on time. Whatever will be my answer, I promise we will be friends forever. Even if I die someday my holy spirit will be there to haunt you. (Making funny faces)

Sarth - (With an intention to change the topic) Happy Birthday dear. You are really amazing.

Sarah - Happy Birthday.

In unison - (Laughing) Reflex.

Sarah - Am hungry, let’s have dinner.

Sarth - I’ll remember this evening like forever. Am happy  ….elated!

Sarah - My pleasure!

And then they left the beautiful place with memories to cherish forever.
